Weekly Training Nights

For regular weekly club training runs we meet at RRR HQ (Royton Cricket Club) every Monday & Thursday night at 6.00pm to warm-up, with runs setting off at 6.15pm.

Car parking, changing facilities & showers are available.

We have a number of different training groups, running at different speeds designed to suit runners of all standards. Routes tend to be undulating (this is Oldham after all!), usually off-road in & around Tandle Hill Country Park in the summer & on the roads when evenings are darker. 

​

Runners aged 18 & over of any ability & experience are welcome to come along to give us a try. If you wish to speak to someone beforehand, please contact one of the people listed on our Contacts/Officials page.

All of our training groups are led by volunteers (each of whom has plenty of running experience) with the emphasis on sociable runs rather than 'hard training'.

We don't want things to be too regimented, but the safety of all runners is paramount - at least one person in each group should carry a mobile phone in case of emergencies, nobody will be left behind, routes will be chosen to avoid dangerous roads & it is the personal responsibility of EVERY runner to be visible to traffic, wearing suitable reflective clothing, especially on darker nights. When we run off-road during the summer we ask you to make sure that you are wearing appropriate footwear.

 

Other than that, it's all about the pleasure of running regularly with like-minded people of a similar standard!
