The Royton Trail

The 17th edition of The Royton Trail will take place on Wednesday 10th July 2024.

This is a popular 6.4-mile multi-terrain race over an undulating mainly rural course, starting and finishing at Royton Cricket Club (OL2 5TX) with toilets, changing and bar on site. Limited parking, but plenty more available nearby in the car park on Radcliffe Street (OL2 6RH). The race is chip-timed, with prizes presened immediately after the race.

The Royton Trail race was first held on 18th July 2007, with a field of 72 runners.
The first race winner was David Lockett of Salford Harriers.

 

The race has grown in popularity over subsequent years, with 208 finishers on 12th July 2023 - when Rob James (Royton Road Runners) set a new record with his 5th TRT victory & Jennifer Badger (Prestwich AC) won the ladies race for the first time.
