 A new Couch to 5K group starts on Monday 27th September 2021.


The Royton Road Runners RunTogether group meets at Royton Cricket Club on Monday & Thursday evenings at 6pm.

The sessions last for 1 hour & are designed to help over-18s to achieve their goal...whether that is to get fit, lose weight, meet new friends, take part in a race or just to get off the couch!

We believe that running/jogging is for everyone & is most fun when shared with others. We can help if you’re a beginner or if you’ve not run for a while & want a gentle introduction. There is no minimum standard or level of experience. It’s fine to walk a bit, jog a bit, walk a bit more.

The sessions are designed around an initial 10–12 week training programme which, in addition to a weekly group run, offers advice on safety, clothing & footwear, warming-up & warming-down, a bit of homework.

Group leaders are fully qualified & insured by England Athletics.

The overall aim is to conclude the programme with a 5K timed run.


As the name suggests, it’s about helping you to get started and/or to improve – it really is about lacing up your trainers & taking part.
