 A new Couch to 5K group starts on Monday 9th May 2022.


The Royton Road Runners RunTogether group meets at Royton Cricket Club on Monday evenings at 6pm.

The sessions last for 1 hour & are designed to help over-18s to achieve their goal...whether that is to get fit, lose weight, meet new friends, take part in a race or just to get off the couch!

We believe that running/jogging is for everyone & is most fun when shared with others. We can help if you’re a beginner or if you’ve not run for a while & want a gentle introduction. There is no minimum standard or level of experience. It’s fine to walk a bit, jog a bit, walk a bit more.

The aim is to do the whole course in 12-16 weeks via a training programme which, in addition to a weekly group run, offers advice on safety, clothing & footwear, warming-up & warming-down, a bit of homework.

Group leaders are fully qualified & insured by England Athletics.

The plan is to conclude the programme with a 5K timed run at Oldham parkrun.


As the name suggests, it’s about helping you to get started and/or to improve – it really is about lacing up your trainers & taking part.
