THE ROYTON TRAIL MULTI-TERRAIN RACE


The 2021 'The Royton Trail' will take place at 7.30pm on Wednesday 14th July.

 There are a couple of changes this year. Race HQ will be at our home base of Royton Cricket Club (OL2 5TX) with the start/finish line being on the cricket field. As a result the course will be slightly longer than previous years, coming in at approx 10K.

The main loop on the new route is identical to that used for the last few years, the additional section is to link the loop with the cricket club (see route map below).

RACE HISTORY

The Royton Trail race was first held on 18th July 2007, with a field of 72 runners.
The first race winner was David Lockett of Salford Harriers.

The race has grown in popularity over subsequent years, with 253 finishers on 10th July 2019 - when Rob James (Royton Road Runners) defended the title he won in 2016 & Sarah Thomas (unattached) won the ladies race for the first time.
