STOP PRESS: an excellent start for the new Get Me Started group on Monday 5th June 2017, with an excellent turnout despite the weather! Congratulations to everyone who attended this 1st session.


The Royton Road Runners RunTogether group meets at Royton Cricket Club on Monday evenings at 5.45pm.

The sessions last for 1 hour & are designed to help over-18s to achieve their goal...whether that is to get fit, lose weight, meet new friends, take part in a race or just to get off the couch!

We believe that running/jogging is for everyone & is most fun when shared with others. We can help if you’re a beginner or if you’ve not run for a while & want a gentle introduction. There is no minimum standard or level of experience. It’s fine to walk a bit, jog a bit, walk a bit more.

The sessions are designed around an initial 10–12 week training programme which, in addition to a weekly group run, offers advice on safety, clothing & footwear, warming-up & warming-down, a bit of homework.

Group leaders are fully qualified & insured by England Athletics.

The overall aim is to conclude the programme with a 5km timed run.


As the name suggests, it’s about helping you to get started – it really is about lacing up your trainers & taking part.
