According to an article in The Observer on Sunday, "the type of exercise you choose to do affects how hungry you feel afterwards". Apparently, research by a Dr David Stensel ("the country's leading expert on sport & exercise science") suggests that some workouts (swimming in cold water, weightlifting, cycling) trigger cravings for high-fat foods, while other activity (including long distance running) encourages us to eat healthy food or even suppresses our appetite. Does this ring true to anyone? I certainly don't feel like eating straight after a hard/long run, and I'm more likely to need lots of liquid rather than healthy foods...
